This past weekend my little sister came to visit my husband and I, well and our new addition Freya of course. It has been awhile since we all have been together. In fact the last time was before my daughter was born. She decided to come to New York from Ohio for her fall break from college.
You see my sister is an amazing young lady. I want to be her when I grow up. She has so many goals that she has set for herself and she is already on her way to achieving many of them. She is attending The Ohio State University and is on her way to becoming an engineer. And did I mention that she has a minor as well. That girl is a busy one.
While visiting she told me that she is starting to scratch some items off of her bucket list, which I didn't even know she had. She has so many back up plans for jobs so that she will be stacked to her head in knowledge of many things. One job is to become a pilot and another to become a bus driver, which she is in the process of getting her license for. I mean come on now she is an over achiever I swear.
She is super excited that we had Freya and couldn't wait to meet her. She was a little hesitant to hold her at first but got the hang of it quite quickly. She is going to be an amazing auntie to my little love bug. I know that Freya is going to have lots of love coming her way from her auntie.
As the weekend went on she just beamed of happiness and it was contagious. We had the most fun at the pumpkin patch. It was definitely refreshing having a younger soul around the house. Since becoming a mom I have felt the energy drain out of me and it may have been just for a few days but having the upbeat energy made me forget how exhausted I really am. But I do have to admit, the day she left all my husband and I did was lounge around and sleep as much as Freya would allow.
Smiles and laughter are contagious. I have to remember this as I'm walking around town this week. Channelling my sisters energy may just make someone elses day.Everyone needs a little bit more smiling and laughter in their lives, especially this day in age where there is so much hate and fear.
