One of the funniest moments of being a photographer has to be the day I went to a friends house to help create a cake smash for her little girl.
Everything was going smoothly. Our girls were playing while we set up a winter one-derland for a cake smash.
When it was time to start we position all the decor and our little winter princess. As usual I always seem to be under tables or on the floor at some point during all my shoots. It’s inevitable. This was no different. We both were in this for the long haul. Checking angles and sharing space where we are practically rubbing elbows. But every second was amazing!!
As we are trying to maneuver around her and make sure she’s in the perfect spot with all her smiles and faces making us laugh we come to the best part, the cake!!
We bring out her very own cupcake and from the second she saw it she wanted it. So we distracted her while we took some close up shots of her cute cupcake. Well that only lasted so long. You can’t keep a girl away from her cake for too long. Haha
So we sat her down and the cupcake. I swear it only was 30 seconds before it was totally gone.it was soo cute how she loved it so much she licked her fingers and the wrapper.
After it was all said and done we just were in awe. She was all about her cake smash and she would do it all over again. I don’t blame her cake is serious business.
All in all the best part was being able to collaborate with a fellow creative and being able to call her my friend is the cherry on top.
