Here we are at almost 37 weeks. I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by.
This past weekend we had a little baby sprinkle with some close friends and we couldn’t have had a better time. Just watching all the littles playing with each other (with some ups and downs because you see they are toddlers and still learning how to mingle) warmed my heart. We don’t have much of a summer here in upstate NY but the time we do have with nice weather we try to take advantage of. And let me tell you, Saturday was the perfect day!! Sunshine a light breeze and 70s. We all were able to sit outside and enjoy the afternoon and heck yes we fired up that gril! It is one of my favorite things about summer time after all!
We thank everyone for joining us in celebrating our baby boy! And the time has come to announce the name we have kept secret for some time now.
As you all know my husband and I have very basic names (Katie and Jesse). But since our names are so common we have always love names we don’t hear very often.
Back when we were younger and just engaged we talked about what our future would be like. How many kids, where we would settle down (eventually) and much much more. We had two names picked out from that moment on for one girl and one boy. Well we never used our girl name due to some reasons that are better left unexplained but when we had our daughter we picked out her name as we were pregnant. Her name is Freya and it fits her perfectly with her strong willed nature and overwhelming love that pours over you when you meet her. She was named after an old Norse goddess so naturally when we found our we were expecting again we started looking at old Norse names again.
Well it just so happens that the name we talked about early in our marriage was in fact old Norse. So it was meant to be. Thank goodness too because all the other boy names that my husband likes from this origin are really fantastic haha not!! It would have been hard to pick another boy name with this as a theme.
We do have other names we really thought about but this one just kept finding us and we knew it was meant to be.
So here it is...
We would like to announce that little baby boy Reiner Kincaide Messer will be joining our family soon. We are so excited to see how having two babies can fill our house with more love than we could ever imagine.
But this doesn’t come without reservations. We do have some anxiety over how Freya will react to having a new baby in the house and sharing her snuggles and time with both momma and daddy.
We will be awaiting his arrival impatiently because who doesn’t love newborn baby snuggles, especially the first boy grandchild ones!!
We are still on track for an end of June beginning of July arrival. So stay tuned to see how the next few weeks will go!!
